The Experience

In Person Marma Training in Mendocino, CA

Held at The Shala in Mendocino, California — a sanctuary nestled between towering redwoods and the wild Pacific coast — this immersive training invites you to slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with your innate wisdom. The elemental beauty of the land becomes your co-teacher: the rhythm of the ocean supports your breath; the scent of the forest steadies your nervous system; the stillness nourishes your practice.

You’ll experience:

  • Warm Ayurvedic teas & nourishing snacks each day

  • A nurturing, inclusive space for all bodies, backgrounds, and levels of experience

  • Time for reflection and integration woven into the rhythm of the weekend

Whether you are a yoga teacher, bodyworker, or seeker of deeper self-knowledge, this training is designed to help you embody what you learn, restore your energy, and reconnect to your purpose as a practitioner and guide.

Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Credits (CECs) are available for this intensive.

This intensive offers a holistic blend of ancient wisdom and embodied practice, guiding you to refine your awareness through yoga, Ayurveda, and subtle body techniques.

You’ll gain not only theoretical understanding but also direct somatic experience—tools you can integrate immediately into your personal practice and your work with students or clients.

Why Marma & Pulse?

Marma Therapy and Pulse Reading are among Ayurveda’s most powerful tools for assessing and shifting health. Together, they allow you to:

  • Identify imbalances quickly and accurately through pulse diagnosis.

  • Apply targeted therapeutic touch to unlock energy and relieve pain.

  • Support your clients’ nervous systems, digestion, sleep, and emotional balance.

  • Deepen your sensitivity as a practitioner so you can work with both body and subtle energy.

This training gives you skills you can integrate immediately into massage, acupuncture, yoga teaching, or holistic healing sessions — while also supporting your own nervous system and well-being.

Stay & Lodging

  • Our PanchaKarma barn is walking distance to the Shala and can sleep 2 or 3 friends. It has a kitchen and bathroom. Please email justine@justinelemos.com for information

  • There are many options for Airbnb, VRBO, inns, glamping and camping in Mendocino, CA. Fort Bragg, CA is about 15 minute drive from the Shala and also has accomodations.

  • Closest Airports

Santa Rosa (STS – Charles M. Schulz Airport)
Approx. 2.5–3 hours by car to Mendocino.
A small, easy airport with car rentals available onsite. Ideal for travelers who prefer a gentler arrival — fewer crowds, less traffic, and a scenic drive through wine country and redwoods.

    San Francisco (SFO International Airport)
Approx. 4 hours by car to Mendocino.
A major international hub with the widest range of flights. Expect a longer, beautiful coastal or inland drive — you can choose Highway 1 for ocean views or Highway 101 for a faster inland route through redwood forests.

    Oakland (OAK) or Sacramento (SMF)
Both are viable if you plan to explore Northern California before or after the training. Drive times range 4–5.5 hours depending on your route.

    • From Santa Rosa: Take Highway 101 north to Cloverdale, then follow Highway 128 west through Anderson Valley’s vineyards and redwood groves — a breathtaking drive that opens onto the Pacific at Albion.

    • From San Francisco Bay Area: Cross the Golden Gate Bridge and follow Highway 101 north. You can continue inland via Highway 128 or take the slower, scenic Highway 1 along the coast — cliffs, ocean vistas, and sea breezes all the way.

Allow extra time to stop at farm stands, stretch under redwoods, and arrive unhurried. Cell service can be spotty in the last stretch — download maps before you go.
