Guru Purnima
Full Moon Circle · Moon in Shravana
Wednesday, July 29 · 5:30 PM · The Shala, Mendocino
Guru Purnima is the full moon we set aside to honor the teacher.
Not necessarily a person on a cushion. The teacher is whoever or whatever finally got through to you — the one who said the thing you weren't ready to hear until you were.
This year that moon rises in Shravana, the nakshatra of the ear. Its symbol is exactly that: an ear, open. Its meaning is listening.
